Takadanobaba station in Tokyo is usually full of commuters. It is a busy station, one where the Yamanote and Seibu Shinjuku overground lines meet the Tozai Metro line. Waseda University being nearby gives it a lively, studenty feel (I mean cheap, of course) and means that the station and the surrounding area are often crowded and bustling from morning to night. So it was a very lucky shot when I reached the Yamanote line platform just as a train had left the station on either side – although perhaps unlucky as I had just missed the train!
This is a really long-winded way of saying that, just like in the photo, there is no one here.
Thank you to any readers who are stopping by, unfortunately updates on ten million hardbacks will be few and far between for the next couple of weeks as I head off to see some more of the world, travelling a little further afield than Takadanobaba station and the Yamanote line.
Wishing a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!
