Looking up from my reading as the train sped past some open ground, I caught a brief glimpse of something on the horizon. It was gone so quickly that I couldn’t be sure if it had really been there, so when I arrived at work, handily located on the tenth floor, I wondered if I would get another chance.
This is the view from the office window:
Mount Fuji, not looking too bad from roughly 150 kilometers away. I love the way it seems to sail above the urban sprawl of Funabashi, impervious to all the human life teeming around its feet.
I can’t think of a better way to mark my six months in the country. Thank you, Japan!
